Stephen King is a brilliant author who delivers first-class suspense that will keep you looking over your shoulder for a while. Before you read Pet Sematary you might want to make sure there are no cats or toddlers in your house (if there are, lock them in the basement by night). It would be a waste not to read King's forewords first, since they add a certain "a-ha!"-feeling to a lot of details in the book.
Update: I recently watched the film version, from 1989. Very good, and not to be discarded as an option.
